NATURE

Casa das Descobertas is beautifully surrounded by nature. Mountains and forests surround our center. The area is very green and calm. Peneda-Gerês National Park starts and continues into Spain, just east of our location. Twenty kilometers west of us, the Atlantic coastline offers long sandy beaches. The Lima River is close and flows through the center of Ponte de Lima.

 

There are excellent opportunities for hiking in the surroundings of Ponte de Lima. Numerous paths and small roads offer excellent opportunities to walk through the fields, forests, mountains and/or along rivers. If you prefer, you can also experience the fascinating nature of northern Portugal by bike, canoe, SUP, or horse.

 

The Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago passes through Ponte de Lima. We recommend this walk, which could start in Lisbon or Porto if you want an adventure. Your choice of starting point depends on how tough an adventure you want.
