We first came to Portugal in the summer of 2016, invited as guest speakers at a quality conference at the University of Minho. While traveling, we immediately fell in love with this area. The nature, harmony, and beauty are amazing. The history and culture are rich, taking us back in time. The people are fantastic, nice, and welcoming.

In the spring of 2017, we found a property high on the slopes of Mount Verissimo in the small village of Calvelo, in the municipality of Ponte de Lima. At that time, it was an old ruin. No one seemed to know its history, but we named it Casa das Descobertas, meaning "the house of the explorers."  We are explorers in Portugal, and our guests will explore new insights and develop personally.

We started designing and rebuilding the house. The manor house is in a traditional Minho style with a touch of Scandinavian influence. From our tower, we have a great view of the entire area. In the garden, orange, lemon, fig, peach, and apple trees are growing. We get fresh vegetables from our land. In our vineyard, we produce our own wine.

Our small training center is unique. Our guests will stay in a traditional yet modern building, situated close to nature and surrounded by a silent atmosphere. We have our own 25-meter swimming pool, a gym, and all the other facilities needed for a great and active stay.
